Glenn Beck: Steelman 'a candidate to get up off the couch for'

CNN host Glenn Beck had only positive things to say about State Treasurer Sarah Steelman during her appearance on his television show Wednesday evening.

"Steelman is being devoured by her own Republican party," Beck noted at one point during the interview.

The segment highlighted Steelman's positions on earmarks, ethanol and actions to cease payment on a "secret deal" between members of Gov. Matt Blunt's administration and a state employee who was sexually harassed.

Steelman also discussed a policy from the Treasurer's office that prohibited elected officials from receiving taxpayer benefits and subsidies for ethanol plants, until the legislature overturned that policy.

"I guess I made a lot of people mad," Steelman said of her actions.

And the solution: "quit the partisan bickering."

I don't know how you can post these allegations of a "secret deal" with such reckless abandon.

First of all, Blunt asked Ferrell to resign for his behavior. Secondly, personnel matters are private during litigation as a matter of law. And lastly, everything was made public before Steelman commented... so what is "secret"?
