Who is Molly Williams?

Seriously, it's a question being raised by a lot of folks interested in the Missouri Attorney General's race: Who is Molly Williams?

MPN reported one week ago that a fourth candidate entered the Democratic primary. Presumably Williams is in fact Molly Korth Williams, an attorney and wife of Kansas City Judge John B. Williams with political ties to fellow candidate State Sen. Chris Koster.

But no one seems to know for sure. One high level strategist tells MPN that the reason is simply that Williams isn't talking to anyone, especially the media.

Williams has yet to file paperwork with the Missouri Ethics Commission to legally begin collecting funds for the race, stirring speculation that she may drop her name off the ballot before filing ends on Tuesday.

Williams has also not yet established a campaign website (at least not that we could locate).

The many unknowns about a candidate in one of the most high profile races in Missouri this election year lead to the following series of questions from MPN:

1) Who is Williams and how is she qualified to be Missouri's Attorney General?
2) Will Williams drop off the ballot before Tuesday? or is Williams a serious candidate?
3) Who recruited Williams to run for Attorney General?
4) Why is Williams not announcing her campaign or speaking with the media?
5) Why has Williams not formed a campaign finance committee with the Ethics Commission?
6) Is Williams currently raising funds illegally?
